Information: Ectaco 800 and TL-2 Firmware Reset
You may need to reset the
firmware, if the device isn't responding. Make sure your MMC is
inserted properly. The label should be facing you, if you are
looking at the bottom of the unit. Look at the image on the case
bottom, also, and make sure your MMC is oriented the same way (sawed
off corner facing upper left).
The MMC must be properly seated,
so push in until it clicks. Push again to unseat it, and you will
see the difference between seated and unseated.

Firmware Reset Procedure |
- Turn the Device on.
- Hold the ON/OFF button down
with your right hand. At the same time, use the
stylus with your left to press the RESET button (the
pinhole near the power light). Hold for one second,
then release.
- The screen turns off and then
on. Then screen shows: "Main Menu, Load Firmware,
Back Up Firmware."
- Tap the Load Firmware option
(using stylus).
- You see two choices on the
screen: "Select package P 800 V and numbers"
and "Cancel."
- Tap "Tap P 800 V and
numbers."
- The screen shows the message
(window): Burn in Progress
- Then another message appears:
"Info Burn process complete" with "OK" below that.
- Tap "OK"
- Then once again press the
RESET button for a second, but don't press the
ON/OFF button
- The screen turns off and on
again.
- The Calibration screen
message appears: "Hit the Target with the Stylus or
press ENTER to skip calibration."
- Tap the target (small square
with cross) with stylus exactly in the center.
You'll do this for a series of targets, which appear
one by one in each corner of the screen going around
clockwise. After you tap on in each corner, one will
appear in the center. Tap it, and you're done.
- The device should now be
ready to use.
