Translator Care
These tips will allow you to get the most pleasure
and service out of your translator. While the translator is a
well-engineered and reliable device, it is not indestructible.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight. Plastic
melts.
- Clean the screen per the instructions in the
manual. Do not use alcohol, because it might get on the plastic. A
damp soft cloth is usually sufficient.
- If the keyboard gets very dirty, clean the
keyboard with a damp cloth. If this doesn't do it, take the
batteries out and use wet cloth--let the unit dry for at least
four hours before putting the batteries back in.
- Don't set things on top of it.
- Don't drive over it. OK, you probably knew
that.
- Use gentle pressure on the keyboard. The unit
doesn't work any faster if you use additional pressure. Too much
pressure can destroy the keyboard.
- If you are using an AC adapter, unplug the
unit during a storm.
- For units with drycell batteries: When changing the batteries, change all of
them. One weak battery can cause low voltage and eventually damage
the unit.
