Scanning Pens
For Researchers
| A scanning pen can
be immensely helpful to a researcher. Whether you are an
MBA student, historian, archivist, detective, or other
person who needs to dig through references and capture
information--a scanning pen can save you huge amounts of
time while reducing your error rate.
When your workload
is heavy and your fingers tired, the last thing you need
to be doing is copying notes by hand, and re-keying them
later. Nor do you need the backache that comes from
lugging a laptop around so you can take down information
you find in records, periodicals, reference section
materials, and other printed sources.
With a scanning pen,
you become more productive and more accurate.
The basic functions
of such a pen are:
- Scan. No more taking cryptic
notes or feeding coins to a copy machine. Or lugging
your laptop.
- Store. No more losing
important notes simply because you have too much
paper to keep track of.
- Transfer. No more re-keying.
Just transfer from your pen and you're done!
These functions are great, but
there are additional functions and features you should consider
when deciding which pen best suits your needs. These
include such things as having the pen read aloud the
text you scan. Or maybe you need to know what a word
means or you need a synonym--no problem!
Let's look at each pen to
see where it fits:
