Scanning Pens
For Dyslexics
| A scanning pen can
be immensely helpful to a person with dyslexia. Why let
reading problems hold you back? It's not as though there
is something wrong with you as a person--there's not.
What you have is a visual problem, and technology can
help you. This is where a
scanning pen becomes a very useful tool. The basic functions
of a scanning a pen are:
- Scan. No more taking cryptic
notes or feeding coins to a copy machine. Or lugging
your laptop.
- Store. No more losing
important notes simply because you have too much
paper to keep track of.
- Transfer. No more re-keying.
Just transfer from your pen and you're done!

| But one pen in
particular (image at right) is designed for people who
have reading problems. Scan text and hear it read. Hear the definitions, too!
This reading pen is specifically designed for children.
Any child who can correctly use a highlighter can use
this pen. This pen isn't really suited to researchers,
but we thought you'd like to know about it while you're
here..
